Spring is a time of transition and change. The days are getting longer, the flowers, trees, and plants are blooming. The birds are returning from their southern sojourn, and the other animals are awaking from their winter slumber. Ostara is a Goddess who symbolizes new life and revitalization. Winter is passing away and new life is blooming.

This ritual can be performed either indoors or outdoors, with a community or solo. The time of day should be mid-morning between 8 AM – 11 AM.

If possible, fresh flowers should be present to offer to the Goddess. Other symbols of spring such as eggs or hares should be present as well. Bread in the form of a hare or chick may be welcome. Ideally, the ritual should be performed facing east to welcome the coming of the summer sun.
